Some Utah Fun

After a LONG trip on Sunday, we made it to Utah and started out with some Hunt family time. It was the only day we were all going to be together over the holidays so we let the grandkids open some early Christmas presents.

He was so proud of the drums he put on the bottom two branches

We got a new nephew - Porter Grant. He's so sweet.

I got to see the cutest little twinners. Our awesome friends from high school (Lauren and Nate) had identical twins in November and they just made it home from the hospital. Lyla is in the striped blanket and Jane is in the pink one.

They are about 4.5 pounds each. Aren't they adorable?

Then we had some fun with gingerbread houses.

We're heading to Arizona on Tuesday to meet up with Gary and spend Christmas with his family. He had an awesome flight out of Chicago on Friday night. His plane was supposed to leave at 7:25 pm but it was delayed....until 4 am!!! At least it was just him and not us with Bryker! Our flight on Sunday was only delayed 45 minutes (and then we had to wait for an hour to get our luggage). Luckily our friends Kristal and Ashley were on the flight. There were several times I wanted to take some pictures but traveling with kids just doesn't allow time for picture-taking!! I'm sure the passengers loved Ollie, Lily and Bryker's entertainment though.
Merry Christmas everyone!

So Thankful

We had a great Thanksgiving. We started off the festivities on Wednesday, at the circus. It was awesome.

Guess who wanted this picture taken...Bryker or Gary?

We are lucky to have Gary's aunt and uncle (Sheila and Craig) 45 minutes away from us. They are always so nice to invite us up to their house for good meals! Bryker had so much fun with all the cousins that were there and he keeps talking about Brando and Cannon!

The day after Thanksgiving we went out to a suburb and stayed in a hotel near a huge mall. We waited in line for Santa (of course they make you put your personal cameras away once you actually get to Santa) but Bryker wanted nothing to do with sitting on his lap. He clung to me but still got out the one question he wanted to ask, "Santa, where are your reindeer?" Santa said they were on the roof. Bryker said, "Oh, okay, Mom, let's go." But then Santa asked what Bryker wanted he for Christmas so Bryker quickly said, "a guitar and a skateboard." Yeah, a skateboard would be great for a two-year-old in the Chicago winter. I asked Santa for my two-year-old to start sleeping through the night again.
In addition to the awesome Santa display, they had a great playland. Just what we needed the next day for Bryker to get out some energy. I wish these awesome malls were just a little bit closer! I mean, the Magnificent Mile is great, but how do you compare to an indoor playland for six cold months of winter?!

We almost made it

To the parade, that is. Every year Disney does a parade and as the Mickey Mouse float goes down the Magnificent Mile, each tree is lit up. While the guys were watching BYU and Utah battle it out, we decided to take the kids to the parade. Apparently it is really cool. We sort of missed it. Here is our attempt, though.

Bryker has been into dressing up lately. Here he is as Batman. (Can't you tell?)
And here he is going to school.

Is this how it goes?

We bought Bryker a big boy potty just to introduce him to the wonderful world of potty training. (Don't worry, I'm not really starting until later.) So far he is having much more fun "wearing" his underwear.

Zoo Time

We went to Brookfield Zoo for playgroup a couple weeks ago. Bryker loves their petting zoo where he gets to brush the goats! This time was especially entertaining when a goat starting chewing on our friend Mo's coat! Bryker talked about it for days and still does. "Mom, 'member that goat bit Mo's coat?"

(The Zoo in the city doesn't have elephants so this was a real treat!)

Mo and Asher (BEFORE the goat got to her coat!)

Ollie and Bryker

Bryker wanted a really close view of the camels
.
Then Gary and I stopped at Lincoln Park Zoo last weekend...Bryker would go to the zoo every day if I let him. He loves animals. (Good thing for zoos because he'll probably never have a pet!)
