Zoo Time

We went to Brookfield Zoo for playgroup a couple weeks ago. Bryker loves their petting zoo where he gets to brush the goats! This time was especially entertaining when a goat starting chewing on our friend Mo's coat! Bryker talked about it for days and still does. "Mom, 'member that goat bit Mo's coat?"

(The Zoo in the city doesn't have elephants so this was a real treat!)

Mo and Asher (BEFORE the goat got to her coat!)

Ollie and Bryker

Bryker wanted a really close view of the camels
.
Then Gary and I stopped at Lincoln Park Zoo last weekend...Bryker would go to the zoo every day if I let him. He loves animals. (Good thing for zoos because he'll probably never have a pet!)

The Gloves

One day Bryker's friend Evan came over to play. He had gloves on. Bryker thought they were so cool. When I saw some at Target for $.99, I decided to buy them for the upcoming slightly cold winters we have here in Chicago. Bryker couldn't wait for the cold. He thought it was pretty cool to wear them in the house...like Evan.

NKOTB

Not to overshadow Bryker's birthday or anything (scroll down), BUT if you actually know what NKOTB stands for, then you've got "the right stuff!" Please don't be jealous, but I was able to go to the New Kids On The Block concert last night. My good friend Erica (from Buffalo) and her good friend Kristi (from Utah) came to Chicago for a girl's trip. They went to Oprah and Wicked and shopped on the Magnificent Mile, but nothing quite compared to the big concert!

I went to New Kids when I was in 6th grade and we had a poster that said, "We love Joey." So we had to re-create it! (Although this time we added a little disclaimer at the bottom. We didn't want to give Joey the wrong impression you know!) And, by the way, Kristi got a kiss blown to her from Joey and Erica got a wave while holding this poster that we had to smuggle in. (They asked us to throw it away at the door.)

We got to see the boys before everyone else since we had the best tickets in the house (like almost completely BEHIND the stage! Come on, we love New Kids, but we weren't about to spend $100 on a ticket!). And I guess I shouldn't call them boys. They are about 40 by now!

This was the best part of the night. The Block Boys got a standing ovation and came back to do Step by Step and MY FAVORITE: Hangin' Tough!! Just look at that crowd doing the one-arm-sway. You better believe all three of us joined in.

Farewell, boys. You made an arena full of 25 to 40-year-old women so happy! (It was pretty funny to look around and see that 90 percent of the concert-goers were modestly dressed and not even drunk...and they were all just as good of dancers as we were!!)

Birthday Picture Overload

The Party

Now for family presents (with all the excitement in one day, we had to save some presents for the next day...and the next!)

Thanks everyone for making Bryker's day so special!
