How can this be comfortable?!

I think it's so funny how babies sleep in the craziest positions at this age! (Or is it just my crazy kids?!) This is Bryker at 10 months when we were in Utah...

And here is Makenna at 9 1/2 months...

Funny...at least to Gary

We went to Brookfield Zoo a week or two ago and Gary just had to take a picture of this because he said it hits close to home. Excuse me? SLEEPING? The rest may be true, but sleeping all day is definitely NOT part of my life!

Another Bryker Story

Apparently I have a lot to blog about lately! This little incident is somewhat funny now but certainly wasn't at the moment. Makenna had her nine-month checkup and they had to prick her finger for the iron test. Bryker was not on his best behavior the entire time and decided to start taking pictures while I was holding Makenna down.

Don't worry. I waited until we were in the car to "discuss" this with Bryker so the nurse wouldn't be obligated to call child protective services on me.

T.R.O.U.B.L.E.

It's a good thing for moments like these (despite how few and far between they are!)...

Easter Activities

The Friday before Easter, it was nearly 80 degrees. We had a *small* egg hunt with a group of friends.

Come on, Bryker. Can't you give me a good smile...like this cutie pie below?

Here is part of the *small* group of friends! (And isn't it funny how almost every single mother is on her knees in the "feeding kids" position?!)

The next day, it was freezing and down-pour raining. Gotta love the spring season. We went to a cute little farm south of Chicago.
That's probably the biggest horse Bryker has ever ridden. We were expecting a pony. As you can see, he was pretty excited to ride the "huge horse."

I cut off his head in this picture. I was slightly concerned about him freaking out and dropping the poor baby chick!

You might notice Makenna is shaking her finger "NO." We taught her this to do to Bryker but apparently she likes to tell the pigs "NO" as well.

(Sidenote: This is the first time Gary has ever put on the frontpack. He and Makenna were originally going to stay in the car due to the weather but then it stopped raining so they came out. We later realized that he had the frontpack strapped on completely wrong. Good thing Makenna never fell out.)

This is as close to the pig as Bryker would get!

The finale...meeting the Easter Bunny. I guess they are usually silent but this bunny was a talker. Bryker turned to me in complete disbelief and said, "Mom, it's a GIRL."
