First race since 2006

Why did I wait so long? I don't know, but we somehow picked the race that would end in a torrential downpour. All the more fun, I guess!

A fellow Davis Dart. Funny that Shana and my sister, Jenni, were best friends in high school. Now she's one of my best friends here! She's saved me many times helping out with Bryker (like watching him while I went to Oprah!) and her husband even watched Bryker during this race until Gary picked him up. That reminds me, I owe Adam a dessert! What is his favorite, Shana?

By the way, we missed all of you that missed out on the race (especially the last-minute one, Steph. Stupid O'Hare and its delays!). We'll definitely have to do another one again soon.

Hanging out with the Smith's

So I'm finally getting around to posting some pictures of our awesome friends that came to see us a couple weeks ago. I always have the excuse that I don't take a lot of pictures because I'm always chasing Bryker around but then I realized that Erica is always taking pictures and she has Ella AND Ruby to chase around! So now I don't have any excuses, but I did steal some pictures from Erica! But before I get to the Chicago pictures, check out the making of the Bryker-and-Ella-friendship!

Reunited! July 2008

Now for the Chicago pictures...

The whole crew at Navy Pier

Bryker loved Ella's bed!

Ella loved the water at Millennium Park

Bryker, not so much!

This was so funny - we were at the Aquarium and there were big beluga whales swimming around but rolling on the floor was much more fun for these two!

We took a river tour - this is the new Trump building

Sears Tower

Playing at the zoo

Cute little Ruby. She has the best smile ever. Her whole face lights up and it is irresistible.

Silly Ella!

We had so much fun. Thanks for making the drive out here, Smith family. We miss you guys and the rest of the crew in Buffalo!

3rd of July

Since Chicago has its big fireworks celebration on July 3rd, we decided to get together with some friends for a little picnic. The only problem was that it was FREEZING! I think it was like 75 that day and once the sun went down...brrrrr. Definitely my first memories of July picnics and sweatshirts!

The actual 4th of July was a GREAT day for us because some of our best friends from Buffalo made the long drive to come and see us! We had such a fun time playing with them. I decided that the worst part of living the student life is that you make such great friends and then you have to move away. Oh well, I guess that means we can just look forward to many visits! Lots of pics coming soon!
