For Memorial Day, we went to the zoo and Gary and Bryker saw a monkey urinating on some of the innocent bystanders. Too bad I wasn't there with the camera! (I was parking - yeah, it takes about 20 minutes to find a spot on holidays!) It was such a warm day that we had to make a stop for some ice cream after. Then we had a fun barbecue with some friends from our ward.

The Survivor
Okay, I know you are all desperately wondering how the bunnies are doing. Unfortunately, I have a sad update (at least some might think so!). Three out of the four bunnies didn't make it. Thanks to a STUPID CAT! Some cat got into the backyard and was playing with the bunnies and apparently when they don't stay in the hole with their siblings, they can't withstand the cold of the night. I chased the cat away twice (at midnight...yes, Gary thinks I'm crazy) and even blocked off the gate opening so it couldn't get in. But apparently it got in the next day. I noticed they were not moving all day so I put Gary on clean up duty. When he went out there, he noticed that one of the little bunnies was still alive. He or she (or it) is a survivor! It quickly hopped away but we have seen it in our yard a couple of times now. Go baby bunny.

I don't know it sounds like you are becoming fond of bunnies...
One time we saw a tiger shoot pee out the side of it's cage at innocent by- standers...It was so funny!
I think you just adopted yourself a BUNNY! Too bad about the other babies. I would probally be out there at midnight too trying to keep the DANG cats away. I must admit, I have somewhat of a rocky relationship with ALL cats :)
Sounds like a great Memorial Day weekend! Bryker is getting so big!!
Thanks for the invite Missy! It is so much fun to keep in touch. Hope things are going well!
I knew there was more than one reason I never liked cats (I hope Lauren reads this). Well I'm very happy for your bunny. And from the sound of things you're getting dangerously close to becoming an animal lover. Next you know you'll be one of those people in the picket line protesting fur coats. Well we all have to convert some time.
I love the picture of Bryker with the ice cream cone. Although, I am very sad that you missed the monkey urination. That would've been a good one.
Sorry to hear about the bunnies! Baby anything, whether it be bunnies or goats or whatever are always so cute. Hey, we're going to be in your neck of the woods this week and would love to say 'hi!' Email me your phone # and let's try to work something out! cinieder@yahoo.com
I think you should find the survivor and keep it as your pet, it obviously likes your yard!! It is a cute little thing!
